Mold Treatment

Moisture in buildings is a major contributor to mold growth, unhealthy buildings, and poor indoor air quality. Wetting of building walls and rainwater leaks are major causes of water infiltration, but so is excessive indoor moisture generation. Preventive and remedial measures include rainwater tight detail design; prevention of uncontrolled air movement; reduction of indoor air moisture content; reduction of water vapor diffusion into walls and roofs; selection of building materials with appropriate water transmission characteristics; and proper field workmanship quality control.

Winterization

This service is to prevent freeze damage, according to the regulatory requirements. Winterization encompasses disconnecting water meter and plugging supply lines. The entire system is then drained and blown out with compressed air and then checked for leaks. Antifreeze is added to the plumbing system. This procedure is documented and dated on a winterization signs posted on the property front door. All properties must be winterized between the dates of October 1 and March 31.

Framing

Framing is equivalent to the skeleton of the body whereas the walls would be the skin. If the framing is completed poorly, the house is doomed. There are 2 types of walls (1). Load-bearing and (2). Non-bearing. These walls are made from a series of vertical studs (Usually 2x4s or 2x6s) spaced equally apart (Usually 16 or 24 inches) and capped on the op and the bottom by horizontal plates. The plates may be either single or double, depending on whether the wall is load-bearing. Framing also includes the Flooring. A floor is a series of Joists(Usually 2x8s, 2x10s or 2x12s) spaced equally apart (Usually 12, 16 or 24 inches). At the foundation level, the joints rest on Sills, pieces of wood (Usually 10 Ft 2x6s) that are bolted to the concrete foundation. A Grinder is a beam that often runs the length of the house to offer support to the joists. The Floor Header is a board at the end of the joists. The Subfloor rests directly on top of the joists

Sheetrock

The first step in this process is to check the framing to make sure you have adequate nailing surfaces and to identify any major areas that are out of square. Once the drywall is hung properly, a taper will begin the process of “filling in the gaps” between the sheetrock pieces.
